When I first purchased Mount and Blade: Warband by TaleWorlds through a Steam sale, I was excited. I had watched the preview videos, and thought it was a cool concept. The blending of genre’s between RTS, RPG, and a third person view really intrigued me. I patiently (or not so much) waited for the download to complete, and dived in. The rest of my weekend was dedicated to this game.

I was lured into Jact a few years ago after I found out that Gamewager was a legitimate service. Gamewager had shut down, and I was looking for a service to fill the void. Jact offered a rewards program for gamers. I downloaded their program and let it run idle in the background as I played games. It had an overlay that displayed how I was doing, and awarded points based on time primarily.

Occasionally I get the opprotunity to review a service that is offered on the web, and this is one of those opprotunities. Gamewager.net was a website that, at least at face value, gave away free prizes for playing games while their software ran in the background. It never left Beta, but the point was one of two things, it was either an advertising platform, with the intent to display ads as periods of time pass, or it was a data mining program.
